Hello, Everyone!

Looks like I got a shiny new place to talk. A whole new blog. What does that mean? It means it's another place I need to update and will inevitably fail at updating  anywhere near as often as I should. I'll say what I always do. Expect consistently inconsistent updates. We got a full time job on top of all the writing that needs doing, so... yeah, stuff slips my mind.

Anyways. Welcome all! My name is Marissa Beck. I'm an indie author who mainly writes fantasy. I have a whole connected universe going on in my books. If you thought Listen was plain Jane fiction without any connection to the universe. Hahaha, you're wrong. There are universal implications/things in every story, some are more open than others, but it's all still there. I have this whole web created. Actually, remind me some day to put out my favorite family tree in the universe...because it spans multiple planets and is...hilariously complicated.

I love writing, it's my passion. My main focus in any of my books is character. I love characters and people-centric stories. I've never been accused of being the best writer, but one thing my writing group has agreed on is that I can do characters pretty darn well. I love delving into the psychology of characters good, evil, or morally in the middle. I often explore very dark topics and try to make this life we live make sense. Sometimes I do okay at it, so I hear.

I'd not call myself a good writer, but I am a good story teller. The good news for you, is my books are professionally edited, so you don't have to deal with my grammatical idiocy near as much as my writing group and editor does. Haha. 

My base warning for everyone is that I am not afraid to kill my darlings... in fact, death may be kinder that much of what happens to my characters. If any of my characters seem happy... brace yourself. It's not going to end well. That's not spoilers, that's facts.

I have a gaming youtube channel and twitch channel. I also have a book youtube channel that's brand new as of this post and I really need to work on it, but hey, it exists. It's a bit difficult because I'm a faceless person, but it's fine. I work with what I've got.

I'll try to keep these posts pretty informal and just written in my tone. No need to fret about correctness here.
